We are pleased to announce that Expressionist Artist, Jean Berry has joined out Artists' community here in Savage.  Jean and her husband Dale, have two teen sons and are from the Edina Area. Jean's work is a joyous celebration of her life, full of energy and color vibration.  As a reprepresentational gallery, Jean's work is a big step to a more contempory world which we hope our visitors will enjoy as much as we do!  Join us in welcoming Jean to Savage Art Studios!

We have been delight with the wonderful responce to 'Scott County Almanac' by Joshua Cunningham which highlights 34 original plein air oil paitings form 2010-11 which were done of Scott County.  So much so, that we extended the show through Tuesday September 6th.  So if you have been putting off coming to see the show, now is the time!  We will closed Monday, but are open 10am to 6pm Tuesday Sept 6th!

Dar Brooks of Prior Lake, MN will be joining our staff this coming Fall Session on Tuesdays.  She is a jewel of an artist, instructor and person, so we are very excited to have here here.  SASG is a representative school and gallery but we felt it was time to extend our offering this fall.  Dar's style is very expressive, abstract and uses a range of mixed and water wedia to create.  If you are looking for something a bit edgier or expressive, then this is the class for you!

 Savage, MN 8/21/11 - Scott County Almanac by landscape painter Joshua Cunningham has been extended through September 6th, 2011.  Cunningham, from St Paul, spent the past year painting outdoor locations throughout Scott County where his Great Grandparents were from.  The show has 34 original paintings, of which 31 were painted outdoors.  The show includes areas of Savage, Shakopee, Prior Lake, Jordan, New Pregue and other rural areas of the county.  For more information call the gallery at 952.895.0375.  Savage Art Studios and Gallery is located at 4735 W 123rd St STE 200, in old downtown Savage just south of HWY 13.

August is half over and I haven't even had time to realize it is August yet!  How can it be Back to School time and the end of summer?  It seems that we all have so many things going on this time of year, that the time just shoots by.  Not only is it August, but it our 5th August in business...yep, we have been in business for five years now.  I guess that is quite a milestone for any business, but a new upstart in such crazy economic times, it is an "accomplishment".  We'll take it. 

We are looking forward to the next five to come and hope that we can continue to grow our artist community.  We find that we are representing some wonderful artists in our studios and gallery. It is amazing the talent and quality of Fine Art available through our gallery. I know people think they have to travel to New York or LA to get their art, but that just isn't the case.  We find that the Twin Cities has everything to offer that those great "art markets do" but for a better investment price.  If you want to see great work, just come here, or we'll even show you some great works without ever leaving home by visiting our new gallery at www.sas-gallery.com  .

 

Gosh I am bad at this blogging as I haven't been on or checked it in months and months!!!  The 37 possible  posts I received were were mostly spam, but there were several nice ones or on target, so I have posted now!  Sorry!
